STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE – VFD PANEL PPM ACTIVITY

 OBJECTIVE:

To establish a procedure for VFD Panel PPM activity.

 

POLICY:

Proactively identify, correct, and report VFD system defects and damages to reduce down time and risk of failures in the system.

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Shift Engineer

 

PROCEDURE:

 

·        Before activity all PPE’s should available.

·        Apply LOTO equipment to the supply source.

·        Make sure System is isolated from the main supply.

 

Cleaning the unit

·        The filters should be cleaned or replaced if required. This includes the filters for general ventilation, and filters in storage cases for the VFDs.

·        Vacuum the vents and storage space, and clean or replace the filters if required. (VFDs should not be cleaned with any solvents or water-based cleaning tools.)

 

Inspecting the parts.

·        Tighten the connections and terminal blocks.

·        Make sure the panel gaskets are in good condition, replace if required.

·        Check the power supplies.

·        At any job motto should be safety first.

·        In case of any major problem, inform the Facility Manager immediately.


REVISION GUIDE:

Any change in the systems will need a change in the SOP.
