STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE CRITICAL ROOM GENERAL CLEANING.

 Objective-

This procedure serves as guidance for Authorized staff to clean LT electrical panels and electrical / UPS / Battery / Server room.

 

POLICY:

The Electrical Equipment’s panel should work as per standards with zero breakdowns and should be kept clean maintaining all the safety.

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Requirement: Qualified electrical personnel assigned only can perform this task with required standard PPEs.

 

Below points to be checked before starting the activity –

 

1. Make sure that the panel doors are closed properly.
2. Make sure that the insulation mat is installed properly.
3. Make sure that all PPE should be available for the activity.

 

PROCEDURE:

 

1.      Cleaning of an insulation mat: Insulation mat should be cleaned regualy as per below schedule –

a)      Weekly Dry mop on the insulation mat.

b)      Quarterly cleaning using soap and water. Ensure that the mat is dried properly before installation.

2.      Cleaning of electrical panels: Wiping off dirt with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth or soft brush feather brush.

 

3.      Cleaning of floor: Floor should be cleaned regularly as per the below schedule –

a)      Weekly Dry mop on the floor.

b)      Quarterly Wet mop on the floor. When mopping, keep the mop bucket as far as practically possible from the switchgear to prevent damage from spillage, if any.

 

Note – All cleaning activities to be done only under Authorised personnel’s Supervision.

 

 

·        At any job motto should be safety first.

·        In case of any major problem, inform the Facility Manager immediately.

 

 

REVISION GUIDE:

Any change in the systems will need a change in the SOP.
