STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE – LIGHT FIXTURES REPAIR AND INSTALLATIONS

 OBJECTIVE:

To establish a procedure for operation and maintenance of light fixtures repair and installations.

 

POLICY:

The light fixtures repair and installation shall be carried out in safe, smooth, trouble free without affecting the occupants with reduced down time.

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Shift Engineer

 

 

PROCEDURE:

 

·        Put OFF the supply where you want to carry out the work.

·        Make sure LOTO device should applied to energy source.

·        Ensure you are standing on an insulating rubber mat/ Electrically insulated surface.

·        Make sure all PPE’s are equipped while working.

·        Have proper tools like insulated plier, test lamp, multimeter, wire stripper, and fuse puller.

·        Ensure conductor is dead before handling it.

·        At any job motto should be safety first.

·        In case of any major problem, inform the Facility Manager immediately.

 

Checks for LED Driver:

 

·        Watch for Dimming or Flickering Light.

·        Check for Overheating

·        Look for Loose Connections

·        Test Voltage & Current Levels. If not rated output is getting even after observing/performing above three processes, then may required to change the led driver.

 

Check for LED Light:

 

·        If the rated output is getting from driver, then below checks are required to perform.

1. Watch for Dimming or Flickering Light.
2. Look for Loose Connections from driver output to led light.

After performing these tasks if the if no output then required to replace the LED light.

 

 

 

REVISION GUIDE:

Any change in the systems will need a change in the SOP.
