STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE - AIR COMPRESSOR OPERATING

 OBJECTIVE:

To establish a procedure for air compressor operating activity

 

POLICY:

The Air Compressor operating procedure is for to operate air compressor with safety and as per standard.

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Shift Engineer

 

PROCEDURE:

 

Switching ON air compressor:

 

·        Check for the breaker, switch it on after verifying no one is working on compressor.

·        Switch ON main supply valve from the tank gradually.

·        Switch on inlet valve for compressor gradually.

·        Check for power supply and any trouble indications on the panel.

·        Switch on the compressor by pressing start button.

·        Observe the air pressor till 8 bar.

 

Switching OFF air compressor:

 

·        Switch off the compressor by pressing stop button on panel.

·        Turn off main inlet valve from compressor.

·        Turn off outlet valve from the tank.

·        At any job motto should be safety first.

·        In case of any major problem, inform the Facility Manager immediately.

 

 

REVISION GUIDE:

Any change in the systems will need a change in the SOP.
